What is “Hypoallergenic” Nail Care

Dazzle Dry Hypoallergenic Nail Care

The word “hypoallergenic” gets thrown around a lot these days. Chances are you’ve seen it advertised on the sides of shampoo bottles, laundry detergents, cosmetics – even nail care products. But what does it really mean?

What does “hypoallergenic” mean?

According to the FDA, “hypoallergenic cosmetics are products that manufacturers claim produce fewer allergic reactions than other cosmetic products.

However, there are currently no federal standards for labeling a product as hypoallergenic. In other words, cosmetics that claim to be hypoallergenic may not actually be as safe as they lead consumers to believe.

Without any set guidelines in place for listing a product as hypoallergenic, it falls on the manufacturers to establish their own rules. Fortunately, Dazzle Dry holds itself to a very high set of standards. In fact, compared to traditional UV gel and hybrid polishes, which contain reactive, skin-sensitizing chemicals such as monomers, oligomers and photoinitiators, Dazzle Dry is one of the most hypoallergenic nail care systems on the market.

No reactive ingredients

Unlike traditional brands of nail polish, which can cause contact dermatitis thanks to common ingredients like phthalic or trimellitic anhydride copolymers and tosylamide/formaldehyde resin, Dazzle Dry is free of reactive ingredients. That means no formaldehyde, no nitrocellulose, no guanine, no acrylates, no PVP copolymers and no PVM/MA copolymers.

At Dazzle Dry, we put your wellbeing first, creating products that solve problems rather than create new ones. Still, we encourage you to always do your research. Look past the flashy claims and focus on the ingredients first. Because at the end of the day, the word “hypoallergenic” can mean just about anything in the cosmetic aisle.
